Each small pod is 11 inches wide at the bottom. the outside edges of the pods are angled to match the angle of most jon boat gunnel walls. when installed on the average 1436 jon boat (36 inches wide at the bottom) the open space between the pods will be about 14 inches. small pods provide about 118 pounds of flotation when fully submerged..
